‘Devil’ is actually not a Shyamalan’s work. It may be more appropriate to say that this film is a Shyamalan project. He did not write the script and directed. On the poster was written “from the mind of M. Night Shyamalan”. So, this story is the first film of the project ‘Night Chronicles’ is planned as a trilogy, and produced by director ‘Unbreakable’ is.

Done by director John Erick Dowdle based on script written by Brian Nelson, ‘Devil’ look like Shyamalan films that opened with an odd phenomenon. A worker in a tall building suicide by jumping from his office. When the police are investigating the case, in the same building five people were trapped in elevators. Both events were associated with a piece of paper left by the person who committed suicide earlier. She said she heard steps approaching evil.

Devil, who are believed to trap a group of people in the elevator. At least, that’s one of the officers belief elevator monitors. With its unique, this film runs from the viewpoint of the regulatory officers monitor the elevator. He was a religious mother who tells the story of how the devil works in human life.

With a relatively short duration, 70 minutes, this film shows drama of mystery in the elevator which involves five people, who were visiting in a building. Many times the camera displays images that make us rethink the environment in which our daily activities: glass-walled skyscrapers, spacious with the registrar of each person who came, residents of the building show ID and guests please write his name in the book.

Various kinds of people come and go every day, one elevator with us, with a variety of affairs which we never imagined. From the fact people are stuck in the elevator, the film evolved into a complex drama when the police began to investigate who those people through the guest book, what the need come into the building and so on. Simultaneously, the atmosphere inside the box elevator increasingly heated. Lights die many times, and when re-fired, one person was killed.

People were so suspicious of each other, and there were bitter disputes. Meanwhile, officers who monitor religious seeing visions of demons face in the elevator through a computer screen, but how to convince it to their coworkers, also to the police, people are rational? Referring to her mother’s stories about the devil, he convinced one of the people trapped in elevators that are the devil. But who? Which one?

The film is entertaining and fun way to make the audience repeatedly shocked, screaming and covering her face. For fans of the films of this type, ‘Devil’ gives the sensation of maximum tension. Moral message, note Oran strangers who every morning is one elevator with you. Remember, one of them is (incarnation) devil.
