Film Review : Conviction
The film opens with silence, which looks a lot of blood spots in a house. But it turns out this is not a horror movie, this is a drama film.
A citizen is innocent, Kenny Waters, sentenced to life imprisonment for murder. Betty Anne Waters did not accept the punishment handed down to his brother, he also tried to find ways to free her brother. Way in which any different from the others, Betty willing to become the oldest law school in order to be a lawyer of his brother. Nearly two decades passed, more and more obstacles for Betty to release Kenny.
No one thought Betty was willing to spend time and lost her husband to free her brother. This story was lifted from a true story. A brother who was willing to sacrifice more than half his life for his brother. Apparently there are people like that in this world.
There is no doubt that when saw the name of Hillary Swankon the line filler role. One more name that should be observed in this film is Sam Rockwell. In addition to successful role as an alcoholic and sloppy in this film, he also managed to become a loving sister.
A civilian is against the current legal system. This story is reminiscent of films such as Changeling, which is also a true story, and Law Abiding Citizens. Things like hard to defend the truth to the severity of the police and legal officials is a cliché that is always exciting to be highlighted and presented. But 107 minutes length movies is not only explained about it, but also teach the audience about the love between brother and sister.
